Ctrl Alt Del_ is a one day summit bringing the tech industry and communities together to explore what an accessible and inclusive future looks like and the role technology and innovation play in getting us there.

a day of talks, workshops, and inspiration

  • 8:00 - 9:15: Registration and Breakfast

  • 9:15 - 10:15: Welcome and Keynote Talk with Antonia Forster from Unity and LGBQT+ VR Museum 

  • 10:15 - 11:45: Inclusive Innovation Talks:  Join Google, Accenture, Miro, Airbnb, Charco Nurotech, and more to hear about how the tech industry is embracing accessibility and inclusion

  • 11:45- 12:30: Startup Cornwall Panel: An all star panel of inclusive startups from across Cornwall. GoodWith, Keylu, Boost Innovation, Spectrum Tailored Technologies  

  • 12:30 - 13:30: Lunch, Networking and LGBQT+ VR Museum 

  • 13:30-14:00: Afternoon Keynote with Dr Kush Kanodia an inspiring Disability Rights Champion and Director at AbilityNet

  • 14:00 - 14:45: Access for All: Panel on Digital Inclusion with Unconnected Foundation, Tangent,  EY, Plymouth University 

  • 14:45 - 15:00 Introducing Intersectional Inclusion 

  • 15:00 - 15:15: Coffee/Cake

  • 15:15 - 16:30: Workshops and Accessibility Demos:

    • Nothing About Me Without Me: Moving beyond personas to think about truly inclusive product development. 

    • Too Taboo?: Where are there still areas ripe for innovation?

    • My Lived Experience: A chance to quietly reflect and digitally contribute to inclusion questions and conversations 

    • Accessible Tech Demos:  Join Microsoft and Miro for practical sessions on their accessibility features.  

  • 16:30-16:45: Unbeatable: The Kernow Football Alliance Story

  • 16:45 -17:00: Closing Remarks

 

From 6pm there will be a Community Film night showing the documentary film Coded Bias, followed by discussion and a community feast.

Inclusion is only possible if everyone joins the conversation

Ctrl Alt Del aims to ignite conversations about what inclusion and accessibility looks like and how everyone from students to product owners and start-up founders to big tech companies can do their part. To ensure we have a mix of voices in the room we have 100 FREE tickets for students, non-profits, community groups, and small startup founders. These are first come first serve. If you aren't sure if you qualify please get in touch. If you need any additional accessibility support in joining us, do let us know!

Ctrl Alt Del_  is run by TECwomen CIC as a part of the Cornwall Festival of Tech run by Software Cornwall.

 

TECwomen CIC is a non-profit based in Cornwall running award winning programs to help more girls, women and marginalised groups find their place in the technology, engineering and creative sectors.
